HIGHLIGHTS
Event highlights
From pre-release hands-on sessions to playful touches around the building
Tamagotchi celebrates its 30th anniversary on November 23, 2026. To mark the milestone for the series, first released as a “portable digital pet” on November 23, 1996, MAGNET by SHIBUYA109 will host hands-on sessions, photo spots, and other activities. The festival will also feature artifacts said to support the theory that Tamagotchi is actually 3,000 years old, adding a playful twist to the anniversary year.
The 5th-floor event space (A-MEC) will host hands-on sessions for “Tamagotchi Paradise – Neon Planets” and “Tamagotchi Paradise – My Lab Tamagotchi.” “Neon Planets” goes on sale November 21, and visitors can try it before its release at the venue. Sessions take place only on November 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, and 23, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day. When planning your visit, check the overall event dates separately from the hands-on session dates.
A numbered ticket distributed at the venue is required to take part, and distribution ends when tickets run out. You may not be admitted if you arrive after the time specified on your ticket. Depending on crowd levels, admission may also be possible without a numbered ticket. Follow the instructions at the venue.
Hands-on session participants will receive one randomly selected “Tamamo Letter,” a foldable letter featuring Tamagotchi characters. Four designs have been announced: Kozumitchi, Pochipotchitchi, Mame Robotti, and Memetchi. You cannot choose the design, and distribution ends when supplies run out.
Even on days without hands-on sessions, the 5th floor will feature photo spots and “Lab Tama,” where you can download limited-edition items, through November 24. Take photos with the Tamagotchi characters and check out the artifact display for an experience different from the pre-release session.
Campaign visuals will be displayed inside and outside MAGNET by SHIBUYA109. Original videos will also be shown on the digital signage beside the main entrance on the 1st floor and on outdoor screens at Shibuya Scramble Crossing. From November 6 to 30, the in-building background music will also be Tamagotchi-themed, extending the festivities beyond the 5th-floor event space.
Stamp rally runs until December 6, with shopping rewards too
Alongside the activities in the building, the “Super Tamagotchi Festival Stamp Rally” runs from November 7 to December 6 at cafes, clothing shops, and variety stores in the Harajuku and Shibuya area. Find hidden Tamagotchi characters at participating shops and collect stamps to earn a novelty gift based on the number of stamps. Some shops are also planning limited-time collaboration menu items. Details of participating shops and novelty gifts will be announced later.
Stamp rally sheets are free and available starting November 9. Pick one up at MAGNET by SHIBUYA109 or MAZE on the 4th floor of Tokyu Plaza Harajuku “Harakado.” The stamp station at MAGNET will be in the 5th-floor event space through November 24, then move to Bandai Namco Cross Store on the basement 1st floor from November 25 to December 6. The stamp rally continues after the main venue’s event period ends, so check the new location if you plan to take part later.
At MAGNET, visitors who spend at least ¥1,000 (tax included) in a single transaction will receive an original sticker, while supplies last. Qualifying receipts must be dated between November 6 and 30. One of three designs will be given at random, with a maximum of one sticker per transaction. Receipts cannot be combined. Dream Capsule, JOL Collab Store, ONE PIECE Mugiwara Store, and SHIBUYA SCRAMBLE S are excluded, so check the participating shops and purchase conditions if you plan to claim this reward.
The merchandise corner at MAZE on the 4th floor of Harakado will sell the limited-edition “Tamagotchi Neck Strap ShibuHara” for ¥1,100 (tax included). Sales end when supplies run out. MAGNET by SHIBUYA109’s official X account will also run a giveaway from November 20 to 30. Follow the official account and repost the eligible post on November 20 to enter for a chance to win a “Purinuipuchi Mametchi.” Five winners will be selected at random. This is separate from the in-store purchase reward.
