POKOTABI / A little place. A worthwhile detour.

How we prepare our guides

Useful introductions start with information about the particular place, not a description that could fit anywhere.

Updated

What informs our coverage

We use the information available for each venue or event: menus, venue descriptions, photographs, practical details, official announcements and published reviews. Reviews help identify experiences and recurring observations; they are opinions, not confirmation that a service or dish is always available.

A rich menu may be the strongest basis for one introduction, while venue details or review patterns may be more useful for another. We do not require a venue to have a large number of reviews before it can be introduced.

What an introduction means

Unless a page explicitly describes a first-hand visit, it should not be read as one. Digital tools assist with organising information, drafting and translation. Their use does not turn an unverified detail into a fact, or replace a venue’s current announcement.

Information that is missing is not the same as a confirmed “no”. Photographs may show an earlier menu, layout or season. Opening hours, prices, admission conditions and event dates should be checked against current information when they affect your plans.

Languages and original information

We aim for readable, useful translations rather than identical wording in every language. Proper names and original notices may remain alongside translated text so readers can identify the place. If a translation conflicts with an original venue or organiser notice, check that source and let us know.

Commercial relationships and corrections

Paid placements should be labelled as advertising or sponsored content. Payment should not be presented as an independent rating, proof of quality or a guarantee of favourable editorial treatment. A verified relationship with a venue is separate from a recommendation.

Readers, owners and organisers can report an error using our correction form or [email protected]. Include the page and supporting information. We assess the issue and may correct, clarify, restrict or remove content as appropriate; a request is not automatically accepted.
