Planning your schedule from the daytime festival to the evening launch

On the day of the event, activities begin well before the fireworks show. The food festival "Yonezawa Niku no Jin" kicks off at 11:30, followed in the afternoon by hands-on workshops where visitors can craft toy fireworks and paper lanterns, making it easy to enjoy a relaxed day on-site ahead of the show.

Gates to the paid seating areas open at 16:00, with fireworks scheduled for approximately one hour starting at 18:30. If you plan to stay from the afternoon into the evening, bringing warm layers is strongly recommended. Umbrellas are not permitted in the seating areas, so pack a raincoat or poncho in case of wet weather.

Choosing the right paid seating for your group and viewing style

The stadium features several tiers of reserved paid seating to match different group sizes and viewing preferences. Options include the "Kenshin-ko Seat" for a wide, direct frontal view; the "Kanetsugu-ko Seat" for pairs; the close-range, high-impact "Yozan-ko Seat"; and the front-row "Tenchijin Seat VIP," which includes tables and reclining chairs. For families that include children of junior high school age or younger, the discounted "Kenshin-ko Family Seat" is also available.

Preschool children sitting on a guardian's lap do not require a ticket, but they will need their own ticket if they occupy a separate seat. Aside from the "Photographer Seats" located at the very top of the stands, tripods, monopods, and selfie sticks are strictly prohibited throughout the seating areas, meaning handheld photography is the standard rule.

BEFORE YOU GO

Good to know before you go

Will the fireworks take place if it rains?

The event will proceed in light rain, but it will be canceled rather than postponed in the event of severe weather. The status of the event will be announced on the official social media channels at 08:00, 12:00, and after 15:00. If canceled due to stormy weather, full ticket refunds are scheduled to be issued.

Can I drive my own car and park directly on the day of the event?

Using the official paid parking lots requires advance reservations and the purchase of a parking ticket. Vehicle entry is permitted only until 17:00 (strict final cutoff at 17:30), and vehicles cannot leave until after 21:00 once post-event safety checks and traffic restrictions allow.

What are the ticket rules when attending with children?

Preschool children watching from a parent or guardian's lap do not need a ticket, but they require a paid ticket if occupying their own seat. Groups of up to four that include at least one child of junior high school age or younger accompanied by adults can take advantage of the discounted Kenshin-ko Family Seat.
