Tour Seven Historic Residences for Seasonal Decor and Photo Spots

Decorations will be featured at seven historic residences: the House of the Diplomat, Bluff No. 18, Berrick Hall, Ehrismann Residence, Yamate 234番館 (Yamate No. 234), Yokohama British House, and Yamate 111番館 (Yamate No. 111). Each building will be decorated for Halloween and include designated photo spots, offering visitors the chance to explore historic architecture while enjoying the displays and taking photos.

The interior decorations will be on view from October 17 through October 31, from 9:30 to 17:00 daily. Deciding beforehand whether to focus on a single residence or visit several will help you map out your itinerary smoothly.

On October 25, a costume stamp rally and pop-up vendor stalls join the lineup alongside the decorations. You can tailor your visit to your preferences—come any day during the exhibition period to focus on the decor, or make it October 25 if you want to join the rally and day-of festivities.

The decorations are hosted across all seven Yokohama Yamate residences, while the rally also includes several neighboring facilities. If you plan to visit multiple spots, it helps to decide on your destinations first and check the location and access details for each.

Costume Rally and Autumn Pop-Up Market on October 25

The costume stamp rally takes place on October 25 from 10:00 to 16:00. Venues include the seven Yamate Western Houses plus five surrounding facilities, including the Yokohama Doll Museum. The rally will proceed in rain, but will be canceled in severe weather. If you plan to take part, be sure to check the event status according to the weather that day.

Participation in the stamp rally is free. Because the rally is held on a single day rather than throughout the entire decoration period, building your schedule around October 25's rally hours will make trip planning straightforward.

October 25 will also feature vendor stalls selling Halloween merchandise, balloons, snacks, and sweets, letting you enjoy a bite to eat and some shopping alongside the decorations and rally.

In addition, a harvest-festival-themed market will sell farm-fresh produce sourced directly from Kanagawa Prefecture, giving visitors a chance to pick up local vegetables in addition to Halloween novelties.

Street performances by university students will also make their debut this year. It is a lively day to take in the decorations and rally while stopping by market stalls and live acts.
