Several courses are offered in 2026, and dates, times, durations and registration deadlines vary by course. First decide which places or themes interest you, then compare the dates and registration status to find options you can join.
Explore carvings, Ryokan and autumn leaves
On October 24, the “Isurugi Shrine and Suwada Seisakusho Visit” traces the history of Sanjo metalware through carvings created by Ishikawa Uncho late in his life and the story of Uchiyama Matazo, a metalware wholesaler. The course includes time to view the shrine’s artworks and visit the factory, offering insight into local craftsmanship past and present.
The November 14 course “Ryokan Trail: Teradomari (Autumn)” visits places associated with Ryokan. It includes the story that Ryokan lived three times at Mitsuzo-in at Teradomari’s Shomyoji Temple, as well as a walk along the Teradomari Romance Road with a guide from the Teradomari Tourism Association. The route links the life of a notable figure with the area’s temples and shrines, including Mitsuzo-in, across seven sites.
For autumn leaves, consider the November 15 “Autumn Leaves Tour of Honai Park.” Starting from the park’s Green Consultation Center, the route passes through the park and surrounding area to enjoy the foliage. After taking in the local atmosphere, visitors can also see the park’s natural surroundings and plants in the greenhouse of its tropical botanical garden. The listing shows one morning session.
At the time of publication, the official course list showed registration closed for the October 24 course, a waitlist for November 14, and registration open for the Honai Park course on November 15. Registration status varies by course, so check the latest listing once you have chosen a date.
