HIGHLIGHTS

Event highlights

Enjoy exhibitions and stage performances by date and venue

Works by the Togo Town Cultural Association will be displayed throughout Togo Town Civic Hall, alongside hands-on activities and sales booths. The multipurpose sports room at the General Gymnasium will host a children’s art exhibition and a junior high school art exhibition, as well as winning calligraphy entries in a contest on the theme of tax. You can explore work at each venue as well as the Cultural Association’s exhibition.

The program and venues for stage performances vary by day. On Saturday, November 7, a performing arts program will be held in the hall at Togo Town Civic Hall. On Sunday, November 8, performances will take place on the outdoor stage on Ikomaikan’s lawn and the indoor stage in the hall at Togo Town Civic Hall. The festival also includes performances by local residents who applied through an open call, so you may want to choose your visit day based on which performances you would like to see.

If it rains, the outdoor stage on November 8 will move to Ikomaikan’s Multipurpose Room A. If you are planning to see a performance on the lawn, keep in mind that the venue may change depending on the weather. If you also want to visit exhibitions and sales booths, allow time to travel between venues when planning your route around all five locations.

Markets and hands-on activities offer more reasons to explore the venues

On Saturday, November 7, the Organic Village Marche ~on the table~ and Sankaku Marche will set up in front of the main entrances to Togo Town Civic Hall and the General Gymnasium. It is a day when you can also stop by the areas outside both venues in addition to seeing the exhibitions and events in the hall.

The festival program also includes merchandise and food sales, an agricultural department bazaar, and a commerce department bargain market. Other planned activities include a display of large agricultural machinery, distribution of landscaping trees, a fire engine ladder truck ride, and work-themed activities. You can visit booths that interest you between exhibitions and stage performances. The published information does not specify activity times or participation requirements, so check the information provided on the day if you are interested in taking part.

If you are arriving by car, parking near the venues is limited. One alternative is the free shuttle bus, which runs on Sunday, November 8. It connects temporary parking areas with the festival venues and runs every 10 to 20 minutes after the first departure. The bus stop at the festival is at the Togo Town Office roundabout. The listed temporary parking areas are the lot in front of the Togo Seisakusho head office and the Aichi Chubu Waterworks Authority parking lot. The shuttle bus from the Togo Seisakusho Kosaka Plant parking lot will not operate this year.

The town’s Junkaikun community bus will not stop at Ikomaikan from its first service on November 7 until its last service on November 8. The nearest stops for the festival venues are Togo Town Office-mae and General Gymnasium-mae. If you are arriving by bicycle, you can use the bicycle parking area at Togo Town Civic Hall or the temporary bicycle parking area in front of the Town Office. With events spread across several venues, check which activities are being held where before choosing how to get around.
