Waterfront Fireworks and Pre-Show Entertainment
Starmines, underwater starmines, and other aquatic fireworks displays will light up the night sky in this scenic waterside town. A key highlight of the festival is watching the fireworks burst right above the water from close range at Suigo Hokusai Park. The event is also organized to bring fresh energy and vitality to Itako City through its vibrant waterfront display.
Before the fireworks, stage performances including dance acts are scheduled to take place at the former Chamber of Commerce and Industry site from around 15:30 to 17:30. Performers will be announced on the official website once confirmed.
The opening ceremony and fireworks display will begin at 18:30. An official decision on whether the event will proceed will be made at 13:00 on the day. In the event of rough weather, the festival will be postponed to November 1; if it cannot be held on either day, it will be canceled. If the weather looks uncertain, please check the official announcement before heading out.
Seating Options and Admission Guidelines
The entire venue is designated as a paid viewing area, and tickets are required for entry. Additional paid bleacher seating has been added this year, and non-ticket holders are not permitted along the embankment path. Visitors are also asked to refrain from stopping on walkways to watch the display.
The East, West, and New West areas are unreserved seating sections where you choose your spot within your purchased area, while the Premium Area offers reserved seating. Each unreserved block measures approximately 1.8 meters by 1.8 meters, and each block across all seating categories accommodates up to 4 people. A total of 200 blocks are available for the East Area, 100 blocks for the West Area, 500 blocks for the New West Area, and 20 blocks for the Premium Area.
Regular prices are 7,000 yen for the East Area, 7,000 yen for the West Area, 4,000 yen for the New West Area, and 40,000 yen for the Premium Area. The Premium Area includes one parking pass, drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and a table with four chairs.
Special discounted rates are available for event sponsors: the East Area is 5,000 yen for sponsors contributing 10,000 yen or more, and the Premium Area is 35,000 yen for sponsors contributing 30,000 yen or more. Purchases are limited to one block per person and must be made in person at the Suigo Itako Tourism Association counter by presenting your sponsorship receipt.
Sales channels vary depending on the seating category. The Suigo Itako Tourism Association and the Itako City Hall Tourism and Commerce Division sell tickets for the Premium, East, and New West areas, while online sales cover the West and New West areas. For the New West Area, 300 blocks are allocated to in-person ticket counters and 200 blocks to online sales; online purchases incur an additional 10% service fee. Same-day tickets may be sold if pre-sale blocks do not sell out, though certain seating areas may be fully booked depending on sales progress.
Admission opens at 14:00. Present your receipt-ticket at the reception to receive wristbands for everyone in your party and a designated picnic mat. Each ticket allows admission for up to 4 people. Children aged 3 and under do not count toward the capacity limit, while children aged 4 through 6th grade of elementary school count as 0.5 adults each. Please keep the ages of accompanying children in mind when selecting your seating.
Visitors must use the picnic mats provided at reception. Re-entry is permitted as long as you are wearing your wristband. In the unreserved seating areas, chairs may only be used toward the back; bringing and using chairs in front rows is not permitted to avoid obstructing the view of those behind you.
