A Festive Melody for Three Instruments
Nagoya City Music Plaza will mark the 30th anniversary of its opening on December 2, 2026. The subtitle of this first event in the anniversary program is “A Festive Melody: A Toast to 30 Years!” The concert celebrates this milestone with music and activities involving the audience.
The concert was chosen through a process that invited performers to propose and present a program based on the theme of celebration, followed by a vote involving many people, including visitors. The journey from a winning proposal to a live performance is also part of this event’s shared celebration of the anniversary.
Amanelia features Anna Higuchi (clarinet), Maika Hori (saxophone) and Neone Tatsuno (piano). Enjoy the trio of clarinet, saxophone and piano in the Music Salon.
Scheduled selections include the “Brindisi” from Verdi’s opera La traviata, music from Lehár’s operetta The Merry Widow, and Kyu Sakamoto’s “Ue o Muite Arukō” (“Sukiyaki”). The program brings together works from opera and operetta as well as familiar songs, all chosen around the celebratory theme.
The program is subject to change. Even if there is a particular piece you hope to hear, please note that the listed selections are only scheduled for performance.
Draw and Seating Information
There will be a draw during the concert. Those selected may be asked to help enliven the event, for example by leading a toast. This gives you a chance to join the celebration through the draw, as well as enjoy the music.
The concert starts at 3:00 p.m. and is scheduled to finish at around 4:00 p.m. Admission is free and no advance application is required, but seating is limited and standing room may be necessary. When planning your visit, bear in mind that a seat is not guaranteed and that seating conditions may vary on the day.
The venue is the Music Salon on the first floor of Nagoya City Music Plaza. Visitors are asked to share the seats considerately. Saving seats, as well as taking photographs or making audio or video recordings without permission, is prohibited, along with other actions that may disrupt the concert. Enjoy the performance and draw, and join in celebrating this milestone at the Music Plaza.
