Enjoy local food and hands-on activities at Hase Fes 2026, and revisit memories of Hase in a photo exhibition

Enjoy local food, activities and outdoor stage performances

The festival, which dates back to the former village of Hase, will be held for the 43rd time. Vendors and food trucks are expected to serve local specialties from the Ina Valley and Hase, including dishes made with locally grown ingredients. Enjoy the local cuisine as a way to discover what makes Hase special.

Stalls offering workshops and hands-on activities are also expected, along with performances on the outdoor stage by local groups. The festival aims to bring the community together through food, showcase the area’s appeal, and give children opportunities to learn about and enjoy the people, activities and things in their community. You can plan your visit around what interests you: eating, taking part in activities or watching the stage performances.

Photo exhibition at Jurakukan; check for weather-related changes

The exhibition “Hometown Hase: Nostalgic Photo Exhibition – Festive Scenes” marks the 20th anniversary of the municipal merger. Photographs of festivals, sports days, kabuki and other lively scenes offer a look back at Hase. The exhibition is at Jurakukan, a community facility in Hiji, separate from the festival venue. It runs from October 21 to 25, from 10:00 to 16:00 each day, and will go ahead even in rainy weather.

On the day of the festival, a free shuttle bus is scheduled to run between the event venue and the temporary parking area from 9:30 to 15:30, approximately every 20 minutes. There will be periods in the morning and afternoon when the service does not operate. The temporary parking area is at Hase General Sports Ground (663 Hiji, Hase, Ina City), with space for approximately 200 vehicles. Parking is free.

The festival program will vary depending on the weather. In rainy conditions, all festival events will be cancelled. In light rain, events in the Minami Alps Park area will be cancelled, with some exceptions, and only the roadside station area is scheduled to go ahead. In rainy or lightly rainy conditions, the temporary parking area will not be available and the shuttle bus will not operate.
